Wordsworth Conference Foundation
The Wordsworth Summer Conference, founded by Richard Wordsworth in 1970, offers a unique blend of events: keynote lectures, two-paper panels with generous discussion time, and a significant experience of Grasmere and Lakeland. Thanks to the Wordsworth Trust we visit Dove Cottage by candlelight, and have unique access to the Wordsworth Museum and the Jerwood Centre with its wonderful research library. We also visit Rydal Mount, and enjoy hiking in Wordsworth’s footsteps across the Fells and around Grasmere Lake. Please join us in 2016! For more details, click the logo to visit the offical website of WCF.

Words from the Director

“ The Wordsworth Summer Conference is a pioneer in awarding bursary funding to enable postgraduate students to attend and present their work. There are no ‘parallel sessions’ of papers and all participants participate in the ongoing conversation. ”

Words from PG Convener

“ The Wordsworth Summer Conference is a marvellous ‘workation’—work and vacation—for all postgraduates with a thirst for research inspiration, while exploring the fells, by-ways and cultural riches of Wordsworth’s Lake District with guilt-free pleasure! I find the lectures, papers and discussions fruitful for my own PhD learning and research—everyone is so friendly, and the food at Rydal Hall is great! ”
